The castle was built in the first half of the 14th century by Henry of Lipá and named Pirkštejn in 1366 in memory of the original family seat of the Lords of Lipá and Dubá. Today the interiors of the castle are inaccessible to visitors.
Czechoslovak Hussite Church started building third Sázava church in the gauge against the bridge on the left bank of the river under the leadership of parson Jaroslav Bendl. It was causing a sort of displeasure by the Roman-Catholic believers. The building was managed to be finished in July 1941. The church was consecrated to Abbot Prokop.
This is the most significant piece of cultural heritage in Vranov; particularly the sacristy of the church. It is very likely that the sacristy was one of the oldest pre-Roman churches, Rotundas, established in connection with the mission effort of Sv. Vojtěch – Slavníkovec.
The cultural hall U Martina in the building of the former Baroque rebuilt church is used for cultural events (concerts, author readings, exhibitions), wedding ceremonies are also held here. It is also rented out to other entities to organise cultural events that are suitable for their dramaturgy. The former mortuary houses the exhibition From the Karel Král Museum.
